Semey State Medical University was founded as “Semipalatinsk State Medical Institute” on 2nd September 1952 of the USSR board of ministers and the USSR Ministry of Health Services in 1952. University is popularly known in the country and the world and is growing intensively.
Semey is a city of East Kazakhstan continuing on Irtysh river banks. Semey is the most outmoded cities of Kazakhstan, and has an important railway junction which adjoins Russia and Southern Kazakhstan. It has an airport and river port.
