What is NEET UG Counselling?
When discussing admission to undergraduate medical and dental programs in India, the term “NEET counselling” refers to the centralized counselling process run by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and other state authorities. Applicants wishing to pursue careers in dental and medical fields must take the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET).
Selected applicants must take part in the counselling process after the release of the NEET UG results if they wish to be admitted to MBBS, BDS, and other related medical programs at a number of public, private, and deemed universities located all over the nation.
Two types of NEET counselling are available. State Quota and All India Quota (AIQ) counselling. 15% of all seats in government medical and dental colleges in India—aside from those in Jammu and Kashmir—are subject to AIQ counselling, which is handled by MCC. On the other hand, for the remaining 85% of seats in state-run and private colleges, state quota counselling takes place out by the appropriate state authorities.
