Who falls under NRI Category for Maharashtra NRI Quota Admission?
Candidates who qualify the NEET UG exam and would like to apply for Maharashtra NRI MBBS admission as NRI candidates should be aware that the Maharashtra government has modified the definition of NRI.
“Non-Resident Indian (NRI)” refers to an individual who is “not ordinary resident” as defined by sub-section (6) of section 6 of the Income Tax Act, 1961 and who has been granted a Non-Resident Indian certificate in accordance with that definition by an Indian Mission or Post overseas, including his child or ward as defined by the Guardians and Wards Act, 1890.
As a result, only the following applicants will be accepted as NRI candidates under the NRI quota.
- The candidate is a person who is NRI.
- Candidates with NRI parents.
Candidates who are NRI wards will fall under the Guardians and Wards Act of 1890.
Candidates who fit the aforementioned criteria and wish to apply as NRI candidates should register on https://fn.mahacet.org after paying the necessary fees (50 USD). Note:- The NEET UG information pamphlet states that NRI candidates are only eligible for Institute Quota based on merit. There is no quota for NRI.

Registration Process:
