Medical Education Common Entrance Examination for Bachelor Level programs or MECEE BL 2026 is a medical entrance examination conducted in Nepal to study MBBS. This examination is organized by the Medical Education Commission for Nepali and foreign candidates who wish to join medical professional education in 2026 offered by various universities, affiliated colleges, and academies across Nepal.

Latest update About MECEE BL 2026
The Medical Education Commission has been started online applications to select applicants for the following bachelor’s level medical education programs, which are offered by various universities and academic institutions in Nepal.
Eligible foreign nationals Sub-category I: Foreign applicants for MECEE-BL 2027 are required to submit applications with the stipulated fee from 10 August 2026, 09:00 AM (NPT) to 31 August 2026, 5:00 PM (NPT) and by paying a double fee until 7 September 2026, 5:00 PM (NPT) via the online portal https://entrance.mec.gov.np.
Candidates (Subcategory II: Foreign NOT to appear in MECEE-BL 2027) are required to submit the application and pay the stated cost via the web portal https://entrance.mec.gov.np between 10 August 2026, 09:00 AM (NPT) and 02 October 2026, 5:00 PM (NPT).
The last date to apply for subcategory II has been extended till 06 October 2026

MECEE BL 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Nepal Medical Commission, Sanothmi, Bhaktapur, calls for the online application of MECEE BL programs in various universities and colleges in Nepal. The eligible candidates are allowed to apply for the examination for the sake of selection in medical bachelor courses in Nepal. Eligible candidates can apply for multiple academic programs. The eligibility criteria are written below.
- The candidates should have cleared higher secondary certification education/10+2 or equivalent education with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology from a recognized board of the country.
- The candidates must have obtained at least 50% marks in total or 2.4 GPA or equivalent.
- All the candidates are required to secure at least 50% or above in MECEE BL or MECEE UG to quality the entrance examination.
- The candidates who applied through MECEE 2026 will be the priority of medical institutes for bachelor programs.
- The foreign candidates who have qualified for the examination are required to produce original documents at the time of admission.
- A notice will be published for the qualified candidates to choose their priority of institutions. After that, a computer-based matching will be based on merits obtained by the candidates and their choice of colleges to offer the best preferable among the available seats.
- Leftover seats after completing matching for international candidates will be transferred to the Nepalese Open (paying) Seats.
How to Apply For MECEE BL Exam 2026?
Application form filling is an online process. Registration has been started and the last date is 2nd october 2026. There are various steps involved in the application process. The eligible candidates can apply for more than one program. Well, they have to pay separate bank payments for each application. The foreign candidates applying for MECEE BL have to choose one of the following options written below.
- Foreign to appear MECEE BL
- Foreign not to appear MECEE BL who has passed the national level entrance examination of their respective countries.
Fill in the required details and pay the application fee. There is a provision for editing provision before submitting. Once, submitted cannot be edited. You can re-apply with a new bank payment voucher. Moreover, the detailed examination schedule and seat distribution will be published soon. Check the official website frequently to stay updated.
Step 1: Registration Process
To apply for the MBBS entrance exam in Nepal, the applicant must visit the website https://mec.gov.np. Navigate to the Online Application button, then the Login button. On the login page, select Don’t have an account? Press the Register Here button.
Click the Foreign button in Nationality, enter the candidatest’s Full Name, Email, Contact Number, Password, and Confirm Password, and then click the Register button to create a user account.
A notification for email ID verification will be sent to the email address provided while creating the profile. After entering into the registered email account and clicking the verification link, the email account will be validated and activated.
The candidate must log in by entering the registered email address in the User Name field and the password (which was set at registration) in the Password box.
Step 2: Pay the Registration Fees:
To complete the online form, the candidate must first create his or her “online profile.” To create the profile, the candidate must pay the applicable fees by selecting the Make Payment option.
The academic program list will then appear. The candidate must select the program(s) based on his or her eligibility by checking the box next to the selected program.
The application fee payment amount will be displayed below the table of academic programs. The candidate must pay the charge by clicking on the button that corresponds to the payment method chosen.
If the cash was deposited at the Himalayan Bank Limited counter, insert the voucher’s six numbers and mobile number into the Update counter payment voucher option to proceed.

Below written are the important details for depositing online application fees of MECEE BL 2026.
- Entrance examination fees for foreign candidates for MBBS – 8000/-.(Excluding Bank Charges)
- Name of the Bank- Himalayan Bank Limited.
- Account Name/Address- Medical Education Commission, Sanothimi, Bhaktapur.
- Payment will be accepted through- Direct deposit at any branch of Himalayan Bank Limited, Mobile Banking (Hi-MB), QPay Nepal, Connect IPS, Cell pay, Visa, Master Card, Express and Union pay International, MOIN, IME Pay, eSEWA, and Prabhul Pay.
Step 3: Complete the Application Form
After paying the fees, the candidate should select the Basic Information menu, enter personal information, and click the Save and Continue button.
Fill out the educational details in the Qualifications menu and click the Save button.
Foreign candidates can skip navigating the Experience and Professional Council menus.
In the Reservation menu, select the Foreign category and click the checkbox.
Step 4: Choose the Category
The applicant should choose only one of the following subcategories when filling out the online application form:
- Eligible foreign nationals Sub-category I: Foreign will appear in MECEE-BL 2027.
- Please keep the details for Subcategory II: Foreign NOT to appear MECEE-BL (conditions apply) with your documents.
The candidate can add or change the details and documents before submitting the form. S/he can also utilise this profile to complete the application form in the future.
Step 5: Documents Uploading
After filling out the application form, upload the required papers and complete the self-declaration.
It is recommended that the application be reviewed (edit/saved) prior to submission. Once submitted, the application is not modifiable.
After uploading all of the papers with personal information, select the Submit Program Application button in the Dashboard menu and then the View Details button to review all of the information.
Step 6: Submit the Application Form
To submit the application form, select the Submit Program Application button from the Dashboard menu and then click the Apply button.
After you’ve reviewed the details, click the Save and Submit Information button to submit the form.
If you need to review your information, simply “save” it first. Details cannot be changed after the form has been submitted.
After submitting your application, click the Submit Program Application button to download the confirmation document.
Documents Required for Application
The candidates applying for MECEE should have all the documents (Original) listed below.
- Passport and Adhar Card
- Recently Clicked Passport size photograph.
- 10+2 transcript education certificate or equivalent certificate.
- Respective Council Registration Certificate.
- Last Six Digit Transaction Reference Number.
- Applicant’s Mobile Number.
Once you have filled the application, it is necessary to provide required copies of necessary documents and a self-declaration should also be done by the candidate. After payment, a confirmation page will be displayed, save or print for future reference.
Seats Available in Nepal for Foreign Candidates

- 25% of the seats in the Government Colleges/Academics
- 33% of the seats in Private Colleges run by the Nepalese Management Teach.
- 50% of the seats in the private colleges run by the Nepalese and Foreign Management Teach.
MECEE BL Exam Pattern 2026
There will be 200 multiple-choice questions of the’single best response’ type. One mark will be awarded for each correct answer, and 0.25 points will be deducted for each incorrect response. The assessment will last 3 hours.
- To be included in the merit list, candidates must score at or above the 50th percentile.
- Candidates will be selected through an open house matching process.
- There will be a distinct merit list for each academic program. However, after matching and admission to an academic program, his/her name will be removed from the entire matching process.
- Candidates who are accepted for admission must produce original documents upon enrolling in the university/academy.
There will be a common examination question paper for Day 1 Exam. However, there will be separate question papers for each of the academic programs conducted on Day 2. All the candidates should report to the exam center half an hour from the specified timing.
