Eligibility Criteria for Shiksha O Anusandhan BVSc Admission
Age Requirement:
The applicant must be between 17 and 25 years old by December 31, 2026. The maximum age would be reduced by five years for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Other Backward Class applicants.
Education Qualification:
The candidate must have passed the qualifying examination (10+2 Science or equivalent) as stated by the VCI-MSVE Regulations of 2016, with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology, and English as core topics.
The equivalent qualification must be obtained from an Indian university or a Board recognised by the Association of Indian Universities, with a focus on Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, as well as practical tests in each of these areas and English.
Applicants in the General Category must have obtained at least 50% aggregate marks (47.5% in the case of SC/ST/other special category students as stipulated by the government from time to time) in the qualifying examination in English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or Biotechnology.
Note:
Candidates whose final result/mark sheet is declared in grade points (CGPA/OGPA) at the 12th Standard or comparable examination must present a certificate of conversion formula, duly signed and issued by the appropriate authorities, at the time of admission.
The candidate with education in other countries / abroad ought to provide a “Certificate from the Association of Indian Universities to the effect that the examination qualified by the candidate (in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English) is equivalent to class 12th examination”.
Physical Disability Requirements:
Admission to B.V.Sc. and A.H. degree courses is not permitted for individuals with the following disabilities:
More than 50% disability in the entire body, including the chest and spine.
Lower limb disability of higher than 50%.- Disability of upper limb
- Individuals with visual or hearing impairments
- Progressive disorders such as myopathies.
- Disabilities that might prevent a veterinarian from doing their duties.
Note:
The applicant’s disability must be certified by a Government-authorized Medical Board consisting of at least three specialities, two of which must be of the relevant specialisation.
The candidate must appear before the Medical Board, and his or her most recent valid disability certificate from a Medical Board must be no older than three months from the date of submission for a seat under the disabled category.
Entrance Exam for Shiksha O Anusandhan BVSc Admission:
Applicants must qualify the SAAT exam or NEET entrance exam to study BVSc program in SOA University.

Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Admission Test (SAAT) — Every year, Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University holds a national-level admission exam to choose talented students from around the country.
SAAT-2026, the 17th edition of this entrance exam, will be administered in multiple rounds. The test will be given to students enrolled in various programs offered by Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan’s member institutes. The test is essentially a multiple-choice test, with a standard comparable to other national level admission tests.
Shortlisted candidates will be summoned to a counselling session to discuss admission to various Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan programs. Another feature of this entrance exam is that applicants with a diploma in engineering and technology, pharmacy, or hotel management are eligible for lateral entry into regular courses through SAAT 2026.
Admission Procedure for Shiksha O Anusandhan BVSc Program
- All students must apply for and take the Siksha O Anusandhan Admissions Test (SAAT) or a comparable qualifying exam.
- A separate merit list will be created for all qualified candidates based on the SAAT.
- Online/offline counselling will be provided based on the candidate’s qualifications and preferences. The specific processes and timing will be disclosed once the rankings are released.
- All original certificates will be examined at final admission (dates to be published after online/offline counselling). Two sets of attested copies of certificates, mark sheets, and other papers will be collected for the institute’s files.
- A candidate who is selected for a course through counselling is immediately admitted and registered as a student at SOA, which is considered a university.

If it is discovered at any time throughout the course of study that the student does not match the minimum eligibility criteria for admission to a certain course as provided in the SAAT information booklet and other statutory bodies’ rules, the candidate’s admission will be cancelled. He or she cannot repeat the charge in court. As a result, candidates must be certain that they meet all of the prerequisites before applying for admission.
