GITAM Institute of Medical Sciences and Research also known as GIMSR. It was started as Hospital and further spread its wings into medical college and research institutes. The first batch of UG course was held in 2015. Currently there are 600+ undergraduate students.
It is Andhra Pradesh’s first deemed medical college in the private sector, located next to the picturesque GITAM University in Rushikonda, Visakhapatnam, and equipped with all modern amenities favourable to student learning. The College admits several students every year to provide world-class training. Initially, it had 650 beds and provided all fundamental specialties such as Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics, Gynecology, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Paediatrics, Dermatology, ENT, Psychiatry, Pulmonology, Anaesthesia, Radiodiagnosis, and so on. There are 11 operating rooms (9 main and 2 minor) to meet the needs of various specialties. Qualified specialists administer the out-patient departments.
GITAM Fee Structure
The fee-structure of all courses are economical as compared to other colleges. Following are the details of MBBS, and B.Sc specializations. The fee of 5 years MBBS course is 20.76 lakhs per year. On the other hand, the fees of B.Sc specialization courses are around 1 lakh per year.
Who Is Eligible?
The candidates applying for the GITAM institute must meet the criteria set for the ungraduated courses.
- At the time of admission, candidates’ minimum age should be 17 years old and their maximum age should be 25 years old (5 years for ST/SC/OBC candidates).
- Applicants for these courses must have finished their 10+2 academics.
- The students must have studied Biology, physics, and chemistry in 10+2 education.
- Candidates applying for the MBBS program must have taken the NEET test.
Admission Process
GITAM Institute of Medical Sciences and Research admission 2023 is available both online and offline. Admission to various courses is based on an entrance exam, which is followed by rounds of counselling.
GITAM Medical College offers a five-year MBBS and a three to four-year BSc Paramedical in six specialisations at the undergraduate level. The GIMSR offers two-year MD/MS programmes to students at the postgraduate level. MBBS Course- Details
The college, presently known as the National Medical Commission, was approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI) (NMC). Admission to the MBBS program is based on the NEET-UG score, and MD/MS admission is based on the NEET-PG score. GAT (Paramedical UG) scores are used to determine admission to the BSc Paramedical Courses.

The MBBS program has a total annual seat intake of 150. Furthermore, 127 seats are reserved under management and 23 under the NRI seat limit. The institute only admits students based on available seats. As a result, in order to acquire a place, applicants must obtain a high score.
